Original 1917 Presidential Inauguration Medal issued in connection with the inauguration of Woodrow
Wilson, held in Washington D.C. on March 5th,1917. This historically significant piece was issued for members of Tammany Hall the powerful New York Democratic political
organization, and features the highly desirable "Tammany" top bar with original patriotic ribbon.
The reverse of the ribbon retains its original maker's paper label from G. Ryan & Co located at 266 W 26TH Street, New York City
a well-known early 20th century manufacturer of political badges, ribbons, and medals. Surviving examples retaining the original maker's label are uncommon and valued by collectors for confirming period manufacture and originality.
This is an original period medal, not a modern reproduction or later commemorative.
